CURRENT ACTIVITIES

The Project to make PSL/PSA available has some current activities ongoing now:

1. Website - this website. A full version of the PSL syntax will be placed here. It will not be the same as the original printed language summary as there are significant restrictions in HTML over the representation of the braces and brackets used originally for selection and optionality. The original language documentation will be placed here in an appropriate HTML format. This work is being done by Geoffrey Darnton and Wannapa Doungsungnoen.

2. Documentation - the PSL/PSA reference manuals are being re-constructed by Wannapa Doungsungnoen in Thailand. When that work is complete, they will be available again in printed form. The material will be converted also to a suitable form to place on this website alongside the PSL syntax pages.

3. Archive - an archive of the ISDOS project will be constructed. Unfortunately some documents seem tobe no longer available. However, an archive will be constructed of documentation, technical memoranda, conference proceedings, working papers, and so forth. Offers of any archival material will be very welcome. An Index of the archive will be posted here from time to time. Names to be given in due course.

4. Symposium - a Symposium is being planned for the summer of 2006. It is hoped to bring together people who were originally involved in ISDOS, PRISE, or PSL/PSA with others who are interested in finding out about PSL/PSA and associated tools. Please let me know if you would like to participate, write a paper, be a member of the Symposium Board. The call for papers etc. is expected in September 2005.

5. Software - work is underway to produce a prototype of a replacement for PSL/PSA with the same functionality, but radically different technology. A small team is looking at ways of doing this. Names to be given in due course but likely to be an international team.

6. Training - training is available as facility on-site training. Public coursesd may become available as demand increases. Training that can be delivered includes: PSL/PSA Overview; PSL/PSA User Course; Strategy, Analysis and Design with PSL/PSA; Tailoring PSL/PSA to a System Development Method; Using PSL/PSA to Implement IEEE Software Engineering Standards. A complete curriculum is in the planning stage.

Further activities are planned and will be announced here when appropriate.
